Brightblue Studio has been exploring the qualities of light, transparency and translucency since starting in 2004. Across many disciplines and through empircal experiments in caustic, reflective and regenerative light, the projects and explorations inform the art works and architecture.
These are through light scape models with a developing variety of defined natural light typologies.
Research into shading systems through meaningful surface coatings, integrated PV as cost efficient shading and energy generation, and investigation into seasonal changes in planting and biological systems to provide both protection and capturing energy for use. These uses include increased efficiencies in energy regeneration, local food production, solar roofs, modulated light and season variations in light penetration into the spaces.
