Albert Edward Dock, North Shields

2016

A new building for improving the facilities at the marina and developing it as a destination. The building uses straight timber structure to create a curved ‘pringle’ roof form and dynamic enclosed space.

Located on the Dock and Lock Gate edges, it dances around the historic Armstrong sub-terranian fabric,
giving views across the marina to the south and defining the end of the jetty with a variety of different environments. The building provides private single shower and bathroom facilities for the berth holders, and an all day restaurant run by the Herb Garden.
